Generally

Self storage is self-service storage and means that you subscribe to a storage unit for your own use. You can visit the storage facility at any time and access the facility and the storage unit using the digital keys in the Flexistore app. Only you have access to the unit and can decide if and who you want to share the digital keys with. Flexistore offers units in different sizes at several different locations. You will find a complete overview of the various storage units in the app.

Flexistore values security. Our digital access system and video surveillance ensure that we have full control over who is at the facility at all times. Our locks are built into the frame of the storage unit making them tamper proof. In addition, we have installed sensors that ensures that the storage always maintains a constant temperature, is dry and has satisfactory humidity. We also offer insurance for your stored belongings. You choose this when you reserve a storage unit in the app.

You can see the options and order transport when you book a storage unit in the app. You can also contact us directly for more information about moving assistance.

We have several different sizes of stalls, from Lockers of 1m3 to stalls of 1-18m2. Download the app and see what is available at the various Flexistore facilities.

Storage height in the unit will vary from the different facilities, from 2.3 to 2.4m storage height. If you have special wishes, contact customer service and we will try to assist you as best as we can.

A storage unit holds more than most first assume. In a small storage unit of 1 sqm, you can fit about 15 moving boxes by using the height. You can use our size calculator in the app to calculate approximately how much space you need. You are also welcome to contact customer service if you are unsure or have special requests and we will help you find the right size.

No, your unit is personal. Walls and doors are made of steel so no one can look inside your unit.

There are no power outlets in our storage facilities.

There are trolleys available for your at all our facilities. The trolleys are tracked through the app.

The trolley must be put back for use by other customers after use.

The price of the units vary depending on the size and location. You can find prices for the various units on the website and in the app. You can download the app for free and register without committing to paying anything.

You can move into your unit mmediately after completing the registration and paying for the storage unit. You will have access to the digital key in the app and can move into the unit as soon as you wish.

You can remotely open your storage unit with the keys in the Flexistore app in all our facilities. Contact customer service if you are in doubt about what applies to your unit.

Yes, you can easily share the digital key with others in the app under the relevant storage unit by pressing “share”. You can also remove the access yourself in the app at any time.

Yes, you can have several units, in the same or different facilities with the same user account. All storage units are managed in the app.

The lease and terms

Flexistore is available to both private and company use. Anyone can download and use the Flexistore app, but to reserve a storage unit you must be 18 years of age or older.

You are allowed to repack and tidy the storage unit. On the other hand, it is not permitted to stay in the unit for a longer period of time, nor to use the unit as a workplace.

You can store anything you want that corresponds to common sense. For security reasons, it is not permitted to bring or store items that are a criminal offense to be in possession of, or that originate from criminal offenses. The same applies to all types of food or foul-smelling goods, as well as flammable materials, liquids or gases, explosives, or anything else that can cause damage or cause danger.

Flexistore South Africa is not a registered Financial Services Provider and as such is not able to offer insurance to its customers.  Customers are advised to take out their own insurance and to confirm to their insurers that their goods are stored at a Flexistore facility.

It is important to get to know what is allowed and not allowed to store, as well as proper storage. You will find this information in our terms & conditions. We recommend that you pack your belongings carefully so that you do not break or damage them during transport. Textiles and mattresses must be wrapped in plastic, and furniture should be covered.

A rental period is a minimum of 1 month. There is no maximum rental period. The lease is ongoing and is automatically renewed monthly, or annually, until you choose to terminate the agreement.

You can easily terminate the lease on the storage unit in the app. You can also terminate the lease in writing via email or chat. Please note that the rental agreement must be terminated at least 14 days before the new rental period starts in order not to be deducted for next month.

The rental agreement must be terminated at least 14 days before the new rental period starts. Each rental period is 1 calendar month. Details about the lease and when the next rental period starts can be found in the app.

New rental period starts on the next billing date. This information can be found in the app under the relevant storage unit.

If you have canceled the storage unit, and change your mind and still want to keep it, you can easily change this in the app. Select re-activate inside the app under the relevant storage unit and the lease is reactivated again.

The shed must be completely empty and clean before you leave it. The door must be closed and locked.

The rental agreement is between you and Flexistore, and can not be transferred to others. You can share the key with whoever you want, but if someone else wants to take over the rental of the storage unit, this person must enter into a new agreement with Flexistore in their name. Contact customer service and we will help with this.

Invoicing

When the reservation is made, you will see the selected storage unit in the app. You will also receive a confirmation by email and SMS when the reservation is approved. If the storage unit has a warning that says “waiting for approval” try to refresh the page by dragging and dropping. The storage unit must also be paid for the reservation to be approved. If you have a reservation marked “unpaid”, you can try to pay the unit again in the app.

The rent is paid in advance from month to month, or annually if you have chosen it. The first rent is paid in the app with the chosen payment method. Thereafter, the rent will be automatically deducted from the chosen payment method until the agreement is terminated. You can change and update the payment method in the app through the lease.

Receipt for the last month can be found in the app under the current booth. If you need receipts that are further back in time, just contact customer service and we will send you what you need by e-mail.

No, we only send invoices by e-mail.

In the app you will find an overview of when the next payment is due, and is also the date the new rental period starts

The keys are deactivated and you immediately lose access to the warehouse if payment is not made. As soon as outstanding claims have been paid, automatic access to the warehouse is granted again. Payment reminder is sent by e-mail or text message.

Support

At Flexistore, you can do everything in the app, from ordering to paying and unlocking doors to your stall:

1. Download the app and register.
2. Select the desired department and storage room.
Pay for the booth via the app.
4. A unique, digital key will be assigned in the app and you can immediately unlock with your mobile and move straight into the booth.

You can also order the booth in your browser by logging in here. To access the keys, you must download the app to your mobile phone.

Note that login distinguishes between lowercase and uppercase letters in e-mail and that you must have a country code (+47) in front of your phone number. If you have forgotten the password, this can be reset by clicking on “forgotten password”. If you still have problems please contact customer service and we will help you solve the problem.

The keys are generated in the Flexistore app. This means that the mobile is your key – so download the app to your mobile or tablet to unlock your booth. (The app requires iOS or Android operating system).

Flexistore offers several different options for transport if you do not have the opportunity to transport your things yourself. The options and prices vary depending on the size and quantity you want to ship to the warehouse. Full overview and the possibility of ordering transport can be found in the Flexistore app.

By ordering transport through us, you will get help to carry, transport and safely store your things in the booth of XFrakt or Best Transport. The transport will be emission-free, or 100% climate-compensated.

If you are not allowed to open the stall, please check the following:

1. Are you logged in to the app?
Is Bluetooth on the phone on? (Try turning Bluetooth on and off)
Does the phone have coverage and internet connection / 4G / 5G? (There is a free guest network at Flexistore)
4. Has the lease expired?
5. Do you have outstanding claims that must be paid?
6. Try to close the app completely, turn the phone on and off and try again.

If you are still experiencing problems please contact customer service and we will help you solve the problem.

You can update contact details and payment information in the app. Contact details can be changed under More – User profile. Here you can also change your password. Card details can be updated under the individual Bod – Subscription.

If you need more or less space, it is no problem to change storage – provided that the size you want is available. Contact customer service and we will help you change without incurring administrative costs. You can also easily order Bod Nr. 2. Contact customer service and get a discount code at Bod Nr. 2.

All our warehouses are open 24 hours a day. You have access to the mini warehouse through the keys in the app 24/7 every day, all year round.

As of today, we do not offer sales of moving equipment.

No, we do not currently offer goods receipt.
